States (sometimes referred to as "Statuses") are special conditions and effects that can be applied to the enemies (debuffs) and to allies (buffs) during the Battle.

They can be cast as a result of special spells that strengthen or weaken (states); and can be a consequence of the effects of the powers (effects).

Each effect or condition has a validity period (amount of turns). All conditions, without exception, expire once the battle is over.

It is worth noting that some reinforcing spells can neutralize the effect of weakening ones, and vice versa.

Some monsters have innate effects or immunities against certain negative states. Because of this, they may not receive damage from a certain type of element at all, and sometimes even replenish health at the expense of them.
